Hero\'s

So jimi is a hero, tcm says he's a hero but is not telling us why. For reasons of modesty, I will refrain from admitting that I too am a hero.

So besides the three of us, which of your lot on here are also heros?

Re: Hero\'s

Re: Hero\'s

Many years ago in about 1977 I was serving in the SA army. We had to go into angola to raid a Swapo base. Myself and 3 mates were on a forward patrol when we came across a small encampment of Swapo guys. We shot the crap out of them and on investigating the area we found a large metal trunk that we thought was Amo but on opening it we found it was packed with American dollars. Needless to say we buried it. the 3 other guys have since died under mysterious circumstance.
Are there any heros out there who can help me retrieve the trunk.

Re: Hero\'s

I go, I bring shovels, weapons and camping equipment. When are we going?

The other day, when I came down my foremast and said I am fit for 60, somebody said I am a sick 60. Am I a hereo?

Little you throw at me that would scare me, except aids and landmines.

regards Ongolo

Re: Hero\'s

Hey Ongolo, this Das_Boot bloke sounds dodgy coz three of his mates are already dead. So if you do go help him look for his dollars, you can be my hero by putting me in your will before you leave.

Hope this suits you

John

Re: Hero\'s

Actualy I have to come clean. It wasnt a Swapo encampment where we hid the box.
It was a UNITA one that we were sent to team up with. I was the signaler, however with no GPS, we got a little lost.
So we stumbled into the UNITA camp. They started shooting first I swear. We had to bury the bodies and all of the stuff in the camp it was a hell of a job. We were supposed to take the UNITA guys to a rendevous but due to the mix up we denied ever having seen them. I am sure the brass did not believe us but the proof was in the ground. When my mates started dying I left SA. So you can see why I am reluctant to go back for the loot. It is not me who is dodgy nor am I a hero.

Re: Hero\'s

Das Boot,

You're not looking for somebody to open a bank account so you can get the loot out of the country by any chance are you? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Re: Hero\'s

No actualy I am looking for funding to mount a sailing expedition. From luanda it is only a short drive. I believe the roads have improved. And thanks to Dianna so has the land mine situation so Ongolo can lead the Land part as he is already in that area. If needs be the expedition can set off overland from Luderitz or Walvis Bay.

Re: Hero\'s

Dear Bruce

Would you please supply an address so I can forward all my banking details and a fee (TBA) to help you get all your lolly out?

Re: Hero\'s

John, talking about my will,

I have a gaff schooner and my will was still in favor of the woman who dropped me. Now I cannot mention all the 6.5 Billion people who are not going to inherit the boat, I have to name a new beficiary. I was scrounging around Family, I could not find anybody to leave my boat to. Can you believe this? But a soon as we talk of a box with dollars, I get volunteers.

Amazing world

Ongolo

Re: Hero\'s

Ongolo a man with a gaff rig has steel in his heart. You can definitely lead the Land part of the expedition.
It looks like it might be a goer (see nice people on previous posts).

Re: Hero\'s

"We got a little lost "

So how are we going to find the trunk, then.
We always had a rule for joint ops. in Rhodesia - don't let the SA guys behind you !
Bur - I am still interested !
