Help with my novel

A possible additional idea. Why doesn't your hero look on a magazine's "boating forum" for details of qualifications required. You could then add some humourous asides on the loopy lot he encountered thereon!

The plot sounds interesting When your book is published will you put a post on here to let us know?

I'll bookmark the site and then come back and retrieve the thread when it's time. But the industry moves slowly and my editor won't see this manuscript till March 2007, and won't look at publishing it till probably a year after that.

I'll come on here and post and you'll be going, Eh? Who's this? What's she on about? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Unless of course you make a mistake then everyone remembers,,,,,,,,, for years ,and one or two may feel compelled to correct you /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It wouldn't be the first time, ho ho.

Right, time to get down to work. See you in 2008!

Cheers

Kate

(PS The tv version of my first novel airs on ITV next spring - sorry, couldn't resist a quick plug. No boats in it, though.)

That novel ....

Salty Jack was a man of the sea,. That's why they called him "salty" - because the sea is actually salty. Trips around the bay wasn't the most lucrative wayof earning a living, but it was better than doing HGV boat-driving. He'd done enough of that. These days he could just wham round the bay, indicate left back into the harbour and park the boat almost with his eyes shut. He didn't bother with traffic news these days, didn't have an MOT and his boat could barely reach 80 miles an hour, but that didn't bother Salty Jack etc etc
