My Volvo 2020 saildrive shaft anode has all but dissapeared since a new one was put on in March! I guess I have some sort of Earthing or isolation problem. Can anyone tell me what I need to check. Can I do a bunch of continuity checks between different parts? What should be connected to an earth and what should be isolated? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I don't want to keep hauling her out every 4-6 months for a new anode!

The Saildrive leg is electrically isolated from the engine and must not be connected electrically to anything. I have the standard 2 blade aluminium propeller but with a Stripper rope cutter which must add to the erosion of the anode; and the anode lasts about 3 seasons. This is on a swinging mooring and in commission for 7 months. It might be different in a marina.
