Help in Identifying a connector

Can anyone identify this type of connector?
It has 6 pins inline with a pitch of 4 mm, edit - having remeasured the pitch I think it is more likely to be 3.81 mm which seems to be a standard size.

It's on the back of an Empirbus switch panel and connects to a CANBus.

I've tried looking on RS and Farnell sites, but there are literally thousands of connector types, I've also tried a Google search, and will continue to search, but haven't found a match as yet.

I'd ask EmpirBus. I doubt that this is a unique component.

Yes, I've done that, I've emailed the factory in Sweden, however, I'm not holding my breath, in the past they haven't been that responsive and I'm setting several rabbits running in parallel, in the hope that one will provide an answer.

What is the system it's connecting..... Raymarine? or some other brand? Perhaps ask them, rather than EmpirBus?

Phoenix Contact ones are very similar only green and might be interchangeable.

It's and Empirbus connecting to an Empirbus, basically it's a CANbus system which controls the switching on the boat, just like the CANbus system on a modern car. The system was originally built for the Swedish Navy, and if you think that Marine Prices are high, you really wouldn't like Swedish Navy prices.

Which, unfortunately, is marked as no longer stocked on Farnell.

BUT - measure the pitch first. There are 3.81mm and 3.5mm versions which look almost identical in a photo.

There are also versions which bring the wires out at 90 degrees if that's better for you.

It doesn't have the screw retainers though. However, the push fit is usually quite good.

I know it did not have the screw retainers but it is available so its up to the OP to decide how important screw fixing is.

You should search for a PCB Header!

I have to do this in my day job on a regular basis to find connectors that should have been supplied by OEMs: This one from RS is the right part (99.9% sure) but as is quite often the RS picture is of a 10 way. If in doubt check the data sheet pdf attached.

Just seen your purchase shame should have typed quicker! Use a bit of silicone to help seal the connection if its subject to vibration.

The header arrived from Farnell today and it fits, which is great once again thanks for all the help.

The part was identified correctly by the forum, I ordered and have the part, and I haven't even had an acknowledgement of my email from Empirbus. The forum is such a great resource, I only wish I had the knowledge to contribute to it more effectively.

I'll use the header to build a test loom to check whether the repair I've done to the membrane switch works.
