Thought I would stick my nose in and say hello from the barrier islands of North Carolina, in the good old US. I am a wooden boat guy, in the construction end of it, [not as much anymore] but still build one or so a year, mostly under 20 foot, now, something that I can manage by myself.

A warm welcome...

...from a wooden boat lover.
Anyone capable of building them, can be my guest anytime, to share a bottle of good wine.
Though I'm afraid that Italy is not exactly around the corner, from your viewpoint... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
By the way, I was in Wilmington a few months ago, on a work trip - are you near that area?
Cheers, Mario.

Re: A warm welcome...

Yes, I am 80 miles to the east of Wilmington. I am in the process of finishing a traditional sharpie-skipjack style, 20 footer now, that will have a sprit rig with a jib. I also do small sportfishing boats, garvey designs, with a spoon bow in lieu of a double transom design, in the smaller boats. We have, for many years, built with white cedar strip planking, for the most part, on pine, oak or mahogany framing, depending on the application of work or pleasure boats. It neat to read a board, from what I can assertain, that originates and it's contributors are primarily from another part of the world, and read the different lingo, so to speak.
