IIRC the VERY early VW Beetles had a petrol powered heater in the front of the car.
Quite close to the fuel tank as well.
A good incentive to avoid a collision!
I dont motorcycle any more, but my mate Bob is a 12 months of the year leisure motorcyclist who also trains for ROSPA and rides a Blood Bike to deliver/collect blood and samples to and from hospitals.
He swears by his heated inner jacket, heated grips and boots insoles.
He admits the wiring is a pain!
During a 350km ride back to the Caen ferry from our boat in the rain a few weeks ago my partner was very happy sat on her hands on her heated pillion seat - maybe a heated tiller grip or wheel cover and cockpit seat cushion would help ?
Otherwise how about a wandering eber / chinese heater hose in the cockpit you could stick up you jacket or down your trousers...
I'm clearly too old and missing something here, if it's cold enough to need heated clothing to go sailing I'll stay in the marina !
