Heat exchanger and Oil cooler advice

pretty much yes. Rydlyme give a duration of 4 hours IIRC. You dont have to leave it in after it's cleaned if it's done it's business in whatever, 30 minutes whatever for the reaction to stop. Once the reaction is done it's done. Remember to check with rod. Instructions are included or downloadable.
Thanks again Bruce.

So after looking at the manuals Bruce sent me it would appear that the only bolts that use thread lock or locktite is the m6 studs on the lid of the intercooler.
All the rest are a dry install including the oil cooler cartridge and a standard torque setting.
Please correct me if I have missed something.

Right as an update and Lesson learned.

Heat exchanger cores soaked in Rydlyme for 4 hours (50/50 mix) then carefully rodded and then thoroughly rinsed with water then left for an hour or so upside down to drain off any remaining water.
3 new gaskets fins added and a new large O ring to the lid then a light spray of wd40 to aid the refit of the lid to the exchanger.
just need to torque the end cap bolt and job is a good un.

oil cooler - not much cleaning required there rebuilt just needs the end cap bolts torquing up then refit to the base (which need a light clean and fit totally dry) and torque the 4 bolts up undrneath.

inter cooler - well we all know what happened there in my haste anyway new one in the box with the 2 square main gaskets on - I will fit the rest when I am at the boat.
anyone wanting to clean their intercooler DO NOT PUT THE WHOLE UNIT IN A BUCKET OF BRICK CLEANER/RYDLYME JUST POUR THE SOLUTION IN THE TOP OF THE UNIT THE DRAIN VIA THE DRAIN PLUG THEN RINSE. as I said earlier I got the last one listed by volvo last week so until the stock up theres none.
for anyone wishing to try and search a similar unit they are made in italy - if anyone finds the company that makes them please name them

As I said on my last post 184 the only thing that appears to have locktite/thread lock is the intercooler lid with the m6 studs on - Please correct me if I am wrong

Right after finding out that being double jointed would be advantage for fitting everything back the job is done.
The only question I have today is in the intercooler gasket kit I am left with some o rings and a short strip of rubber - now I put everything back in as I found it but are these parts left over for other engines and if the intercooler box was taken off the engine??

I have a couple of classic cars and have used ciitric acid for several years to do this job.
It LOVES eating limescale and will not hurt aluminium.
I buy1Kg. food grade citric acid powder on ebay and mix with 15ltrs of HOT water and this works very well and it is safe to use and biodegradable.
It works much better when the water is very hot
