Haydn, hlb

His writing style was one the things that kept me coming here. RIP old boy.

Absolutely. He could certainly write a great story.

I remember the first time I met Haydn, it was at one of tcm's legendary parties during the London boat show. probably getting on for 20 years ago, I spoke with him for an hour or so but only understood about 50% of what he said. But he was good fun.

He sent me a dvd a few years back of all his boating films, great entertainment. I will miss him.

Sad news , I always admired his straight talking and "can do" attitude on here and enjoyed reading his boating stories.
RIP Haydn .

Very sad news. I had the pleasure of meeting Haydn a couple of times at TCM-organised events. He was a fine writer in his heyday and wrote some great pieces of humour on here. I remember him welcoming me as newbie on here in the late 1990s and I remember crying with laughter at his seminal exploding bog post around 2000-2001 (which unfortunately got lost in the software upgrade soon after). How time flies. RIP Haydn.

Had the great fortune to share a cup of tea with him and debs aboard mucky farter in the isle of man sun. Lovely people, lets hope together again. RIP.
