Thinking of using this route on Thursday. It looks like a proper brown trousers route though so any advice please.
I draw 1.4m
I draw 1.4m
Thanks Mike. I’ll go the long way then.Thursday is about 3-4 days after Spring tides. Received wisdom used to be that depth over the Broomway in feet is roughly equivalent to depth at Southend in metres - whether that has changed in recent years I don't know. HW at Southend on Thursday pm in forecast to be 5.5m so in theory you should have a bit to spare, assuming there is no negative surge. But bear in mind that if you do get stuck on the top of the tide you could be neaped for 8-10 days! Personally I don't think I would be attempting it with 1.4m draft except a day or so either side of Spring tides - I have done it in the past (> 10 years ago) with 1.4m draft but don't remember how close to Springs that was, I do remember that we had very little under the keel.
