..............................this boat?

The photo was taken in the mid 1960s in Mallorca. The boat was then known as "Silver Buccaneer.

Silver Ormidale

The motor yacht in the photograph is a Silver Ormidale, 58 feet in length, usually fitted with twin Gardner diesels, designed by John Bain who also ran the Silvers yard at Rosneath.

The name Ormidale is from a small hamlet in Loch Ridden off the Kyles of Bute.

This is indeed a Silver Ormidale, I have owned her since 2007 and keep her on the Clyde. She is still known as `Silver Buccaneer`

Your Motor Yacht is a timeless classic. I hope you enjoy owenship of your boat. I used to watch them being launched from Silvers in the late 50s and early 60s when we kept our boat in Stroule Bay. Alway wished for one but squandered all my money on houses, children´s education and helping them buying their houses. Oh well, maybe in the next life !

John.
