Have you packed away your shorts ?

I'm still hopeful of getting some sailing in.

Anyone planning to extend this season further than normal ?

Who knows, things could be reversed and getting the boat out could be a problem the way things are going.

Nope , still got the shorts on , round at North Fambridge YC our winter series racing is on the point of starting , us hardier types will keep going till January then a quick couple of months ashore for a wash n brush up before next season .....

I've hardly sailed at all in August or September due to family illness stuff. My flower arranging and cookery skills have improved. Today's hospital visit will determine how it goes in October. I leave the boat in all winter anyway. Still hoping for a short trip or two.

update: sailing back on so standby for nice weather. ?

I think that I wore shorts one day, which is about one day more than usual in this country. I'm not hopeful of getting much decent weather now, and the boat is starting to slow down a bit, so I will probably go out for the odd look at the scenery and lay up next month.

Mine are still out, was wearing them yesterday, but have had to resort to trousers today.

As for "laying up" sorry, i don't know what that means. Is it the same as "having a lay in" ?

I put my shorts away on 25th February on return from the holiday. And there they have been and shall stay. Never warm enough in the UK.. Close to Long Johns today.

Yesterday, on my way home from a sailing holiday in Brittany, I wore long trousers for the first time in weeks when we went to visit Mont Saint Michel.

I was glad I did because it was bloody cold walking across the causeway and exploring the ramparts.

Fair enough, I found that I wore my shorts, many different pairs, more this year than I can remember. In the garden at home during lockdown and then on the boat once we were allowed out. Advantage of having moved to the “dark side”.?
