Have you got the bad weather yet ?

Fairly normal, but I'm looking forward to seeing it with an equinoctal spring tide- the storm surge at Teignmouth was huge on neaps, so this should be a good one this evening.

Some of the pubs on the quayside in Falmouth are flooded! What do we do if it geats into our great local real ale? Its just after high tide now but will be held up for a bit by the SE wind.
Just heard that part of the quay at Newlyn is crumbling under the force of the waves.

So what, they have closed Flushing and I was out the village for 5 minutes, had to abandon the car and come home across the fields, about a 1/3 of the village is under water.
It's ok one pub us a little way up the hill so is still dry.

Not a lot happening up here.. quite nice day infact.. lunch spent on the Caley Canal.. now home . ok sunset but have no idea what the pressure is here.. bit more wind now but can't be more than F4.....

Here, 20 yards from the sea at Lyme Regis, it is interesting. The harbour walls have disappeared under big waves. It is very noisy and the building shudders as the waves hit the promenade wall. Even the Bordeaux in the glass has acquired delirium tremens. I have so much spray on the windows that I cannot even see all the grocks who have come down to watch. They are certainly getting value for the petrol money.

Normally we say that it is not the sea thatt he sailor fears, but the land. Not tonight.

Isn't it great when you are ashore and the boat is safely tucked up elsehere?

High water just gone - railway station flooded with water over the walls.
Local coastguard reckons the normal 5m tide has an extra 1.5m because of the low pressure and the SE gale dosent help.....Police have cordonned off the harbour.
Scicillonian has doubled all mooring lines and is surging back on forth on the quay. Interesting.
Helicopters still flying (they do until it hits 60kn when they have difficulty starting the rotors, I am told).
Should be on Tresco but train so late in getting down from London have to fly tomorrow. At lease First great Western have done the decent thing and arranged nice accommodation and a meal. Good for them given it wasnt their fault.
Pity poor sailors on a night like this.

no im not in aegean at moment..and yes i cant spell..im dyslexic and dont mind admitting it..so take the p!ss if you like...im am in Dun Laoghaire (correct spelling ok) at the moment..please read your own post and see how you spelled it..i would also take this opertunity(??) to ask if i am not welcome on this forum cos i have a dissability...

Dyslexia is well masked on the forums I think - some people deliberately spell things incorrectly and others do their best to get them right - the upshot is that when comments come up about incorrect spellings, I never think they are intended to cause offence. Brendan doesn't need defending by me as he is capable of doing that hinmself, but having read his posts for a fair while now - he isn't the sort to deliberately offend over a spelling error. Anyway I don't know why they can't simply call it DunLeeri.
