Hi
Am currently in Crete, we were trying to get to Malta but predictably the weather is against us and I now need some GRP and sail repairs done.
We have until the end of August and are looking for somewhere to leave her semi long term where we can get repairs done out of the water.
Current thinking is Athens or maybe Lefkas, or even back to where we have come from, Marmaris.
Anyone have any thoughts or inputs on this?

Thanks

Kalamaki or Olympic Yacht Yard. OYY as preference due to security issues at Kalamaki. Both are convenient for E. Venezelos Airport and easyjet flights to and from Gatwick & Luton.

try CYS at lefkas (c-y-s.com) if you can make it that far. They did minor repairs for us perfectly and they are english / australian speaking (including some of the technicians)which helps a lot

Other alternatives is Nikitakis in Elefsis near Paireas with good facilities and very well protected/guarded, and Koupetoris in Salamis smaller but same. Proximity with airport is not the strong point for both. On second thought, with the new Attiki odos avenue -thanks to 2004- from Elefsis it should not be more than 30 minutes.

Can recommend Franks Yacht Station at Porto Heli (on mainland opposite Spetses). They can carry out all types of repair, have moorings and can crane you out into their yard.
We have been based there for 2 years and are very satisfied with them.
Send me PM if you would like more details, telephone number or email address.

Henry

If you can make it to Lefkas .IGR Les Woods for Grp (Ex Fox Ipswich 00302645093043).Souix sails or Waypoint for sail repairs.Prevessa for storage ashore ,Choice of three yards.Proper cradles and S-P A-C-E- between boats. Lefkas Marina has problems with long term space ashore in winter.and crowded.

In the Athens area I'd avoid the big marinas unless you have deep pockets! Would recommend Jordan Kanonis on Aegina, or Planaco Boatyard. Poros is good but has limitations on draft. There's also a good boatyard at Porto Kheli. Depends what sort of repairs you need. Email me if you want more details, tel.nos etc.
