GJW Marine Insurance.

After my incident with the French yacht at the weekend, I faxed a completed claim form to GJW along with an estimate for repair.

10 MINUTES LATER they were on the phone giving the go-ahead for the work.

This is the third claim within 3 years, one theft, one storm damage, and now a no fault accident. All paid up promptly and without fuss.

No one else will ever get my insurance premiums ever again.

Re: Errr

- shouldn't HIS insurance be paying for it?

unless all your good experiences with insurance payouts were his fault as well

Re: Errr

GJW are paying the bill in the first instance. Then they will recover the money from the Frenchy insurers. This is similar to the motor insurance industry. It will not affect next year's premium.

It also means that I don't have to try and deal with Frenchy's insurance company. Which is good as my French vocab is limited to the general useful phrases of the Englishman abroad.
E.g. How much darlin' , Two beers please Froggie and Do you want some? etc.
Failing these, shouting ever louder usually does the trick.

Wonder what the French is for 'Are you watching Baghdad now Mr Chirac?

That's enough xenophobia for now.
