Hi all,

I'm moving my marine canvas business to Endeavor Quay and going to move my boat there too.

Had quotes for both Haslar and Gosport, I'm guessing its a much of a muchness but has anyone got any experience of both, and is one any better than the other? Haslar is a tad more expensive but not by much.

Thanks in advance

Haslar has sold out to one of the big chains, and will no doubt be very different from it used to be.

I always liked Haslar -- walking distance to Gosport high street, pleasant atmosphere, good shelter.

Yes seen they're both Premier, I'm going into a unit in Endeavor Quay (which is also Premier) so there's a few incentives to go into one of their Marinas.
As they are next to each other just wondering if one was better than the other in terms of social events, bar etc?!

Haslar is the nicer marina, although their facilities have really gone downhill and need a refresh. Gosport suffers with the strong tides, making coming and going more difficult at times as well as making it less comfortable on board. Haslar gets good sunsets, Gosport doesn’t so much.
Gosport has the fuel pontoon but it’s not that far from Haslar. Gosport is past the ferry and ballast pile which on a busy weekend can both be chaotic.
Haslar let us choose our berth when we joined, which was very nice. Deano seems to like sorting boats by type too so you’ll probably end up near similar boats/people.
It’s very easy to move marina so not a permanent decision.

The shower blocks at Haslar are on the pontoons whereas on land at Gosport. Haslar is closer if you want to walk in small park or to Morrisons or Asda . At Haslar now issued fuel cards for the Premier fuelling berth in post take over world. There is the Creek ashore at Haslar plus Lightship overlooking harbour (but it’s not open in winter) whereas Gosport has a smaller eatery ashore . The breakfasts are quite good at Gosport eatery. Neither offer top class dining but edible -an issue at Haslar tends to be fully booked in summer but if weather permits can eat out on decking. A lot of owners at Haslar spend a fair amount of time onboard and also socialise via Haslar yacht club with rallies and lectures plus some pontoons have pontoon groups which meet . Pontoons depend to some extent on size of vessel but fairway size varies -I think it’s easier for 30 foot something boats to find berths than 40 somethings .

If you don't need the incentive price look at Royal Clarence next door - much better protected and less wobbly than the others, much nicer heads (one even has a bath IIRC) and much nicer feel.

I’m currently in Gosport having been in Haslar previously.
IMHO it rather depends on the berth you get offered. Both have very nice/good berths and plenty that are less so. The staff at Premier Gosport are terrific, apart from Ben I found Haslar staff somewhat less helpful.
The Haslar social side is better but the Creek eatery was awful last year but I believe things have changed now. We wait and see what happens at the Lightship! For breakfast I always use Michelle in The Crew Mess immediately outside the marina.
Onsite chandlery also is good. V good onsite riggers in JTR as well.

Have you taken over the old Kemp premises?
