Harwich Powerboatfest 31/7-1/8

Advanced notice is now being included in the Coastguard's routine broadcasts. Crossing the Wallet Spitway at the same time as the 100 mph + racing boats might be exciting :)

The NTM does not show the courses going anywhere near the Wallet Spitway. Nearest mark is Medusa. I would want to keep well clear of the area during the times mentoned though.

Well I am looking for a ride out to spectate, as my fine craft has a leaky water pump at the moment, amy or may not be fixed by then.

Anyone going out to anchor off for the day?

We plan to anchor up and watch one days racing. It should be an interesting watch, from a privileged position.

We'll be fishing on the other day (weather permitting).

Thanks, I did not see that mentioned in the NTM though, where are the details so one knows when to avoid that area as well?

I don't think it is mentioned in the NTM.

In the earlier thread on this subject there was link to the whatever the motorboat equiverlent of sailing instructions are. There is a chart in that document showing thier route. The Coastguard broadcasts also give a brief descripition of their course as well.

I will have been gone a week by the time this happens which is a shame really, as dropping the hook and watching with a beer sounds like a good afternoon plan to me !.
