Perhaps it raises the question, "how many people check the local NtM's before every trip" ?

Before this thread I hadn't checked the HHA website for some time, probably more than a year ago. As you say nothing much happens and most of the NTMs have little to do with the average yacht or mobo.

I do take note of the navigation warnings given by the Coastguard in thier routine broadcasts which I hope covers most things that would be relevant to me.

mmm that'll be us - heading off Fri or Sat depending on when I can get clear of work... Heading to Ramsgate before crossing - maybe head straight over instead...

Another 'top tip'is that the flashing yellow lights on the Felixstowe shore move, do not use them as something to steer for

Yup, also that the nice big floodlights that are very useful to tell your helmsman to aim for get switched off when the football finishes around 10.30pm!!!

Hmm, we're looking to head down to Bradwell on the Saturday - was aiming to get past Medusa relatively early then stick inshore, but have just clocked the marathon course, might have to have a rethink....
