Hi just spent a couple of nights on the boat bed is bloody hard any one know of a topper or maybe good foam we can cut to size.cheers

Yup we did pretty much the same thing, although ours was a thinner topper but still makes a difference.

On our last boat we got a custom mattress made up which was luxourious!

We had the same problem, and bought a memory foam topper from Dunelm Mill to cut to size. It was definitely an improvement, but we have now had a pocket sprung mattress made to measure by Shipshape Bedding and it is soooo comfy!!

2m x 2.1m for £89 from Memory Foam Wharehouse, delivered. Just tell them the size and cut to shape later. Very comfy but heavy and awkward to store.

+1, but we keep ours on the bed permanently. Makes a massive difference to comfort.

Hi Jeremy,

From memory I think we I got the 1m40 version as the bed is 1m50 wide at the very extremes. You have to cut each slat to size. so you need to measure each one. Not really difficult. Jigsaw on the jetty. It took us about an hour and a half to measure/cut and assemble.

I had a new matress made with a top layer of memory foam but is did not live up to expectations. The combination with the bedflex works a treat with the added benefit of ventilation under the matress.

btw it rolls up very easy if you need to access the locker at the front of the bed and just lifts up when you raise the front part. Definately one of the best value for money items bought for the boat.

Regards

Rob

Memory foam is great for comfort but it absorbs moisture, which on a boat is not good as the bed feels damp. This was the advice we got from a reputable marine upholsterer and having since slept on memory foam on the boat I can say that he was right.
