For the first time I had my boat professionally cut and polished. Always had a go myself before but with varying results.
I had three quotes and finally decided on the middle priced South Coast Shine boat cleaning company. I was promised a satisfaction garantee from Marcus and he was true to his word.
He was soon to find out it was going to more work than he had originally thought due to some idiot having a go in previous years. Oops!
A lot of wet sanding and polishing brought the hull up to a mirror finish including losing some of the deep grp battle scratches. Top sides were completed whilst back on her berth as I was keen to get her back in the water for the Easter weekend. She now looks even better than when I bought her nearly 4 years ago.

Hi Russ, I can only follow your post on this topic, I had my boat washed, cut and polished by South Coast Shine when it arrived back from Spain a couple of weeks ago.... Suffice to say I am over the moon with the workmanship and sheer dedication of Marcus and his team at South Coast Shine in their battle to rid my boat of the remnants of the sahara desert that found its way into every nook and cranny during the long road trip back, and the shine on the GRP makes the boat look factory fresh and gleaming is to be commended...

I cheekily asked if they could remove the self adhesive boatnames firmly attached to the sun baked hull prior to the cut and polish which did not phase them and i was pleasantly surprised with an offer to antifoul the hull to save me the bother of organising another contractor or worse still ....doing it myself, for a very attractive price.

I have no connection to Marcus and his company but would wholeheartedly recommend trying him as he charges a fair days pay for a fair days work which in my book, is old style values not normally associated with anything 'marine'.
Ill post some before and after pics when I'm back home.

Very nice indeed.

But [pedant on /] the blue bits are the topsides. I presume he did the decks once in the water? :)

I thought my ears were burning, thank you all for the very nice comments. I may be a bit old fashioned but i like to treat each boat as if it were my own and be honest in what can be achieved in the finish, inform the customer on how far we can go then let them chose what can be done within a certain budget. We have a few boats that are on the project list to bring them back to showroom shine while still being used, other than that i just love my 'work' :D

Thanks again ;)
