......and where do you think I am?? West Country? Britanny? Channel Islands? No, still back at home, having returned a few days after arriving at the boat - luckily the bad weather kept us marina bound for the first few days, so when this happened, at least we had the the car to hand.

Currently ending my second week of being bed bound, after nobody (Physio, Chiropractor or GP) have found the answer. Latest is that it's a seriously trapped nerve that's taken all the strength out of my left leg. At least they have been able to control the pain a bit, but my left leg is just about seized, and walking more than a few paces is out of the question. I'm on tranquillisers, pain killers, anti-inflammatories, and just about every other medicine known to man. Some of the inflammation has now receded, so the chiro is to have another go at one of his usual miracle cures tomorrow.

My only consolation is that the weather's not been great (sorry, that's selfish), but the constant tennis and football, now mercifully over) just adds to my misery. Can someone, (TCM, Jimi?) start off a really controversial post that will develop into a real dogfight of a thread to liven up my day....PLEASE?

Sorry, I guess I've bored you all, don't expect any replies (a friend in need, is a bloody nuiscence, and all that)....

"Hello, is anyone out there?......Hello.....HELLO" Oh well...........

I'm here Nicho, although not for much longer, else I will turn into a pumpkin !!

Sorry to read that you are being laid - sorry, I mean to say laid up.

You're right - the way the weather has been this week, you wouldn't have enjoyed the boat anyway. I've been to and fro the marina a couple of times in past days, and can assure you that all is in order.

Surely you enjoyed watching the Grand Prix, although I can't imagine why. Apart from the tactical pit stops, it was bloody boring !

Hope to see you both back on board shortly.

<hr width=100% size=1>It's frustrating when you know all the answers, but nobody bothers to ask you the questions.

So whats' been wrong with the weather?

Just returned from a few days in the Solent in fact berthed next to Prophecy on Wednesday night. Had a look round Hythe Marina for spare rudders, ex teak decks etc but pretty quiet on the whole. Had some great sails up and down Southampton Water, a beat against the tide to Lymington on Thursday afternoon and a not so great motor sail from Lymington to Poole on Friday morning. Max apparant 36 knts so a good F6 with 7 at times.

Nasty shock to pay MDL prices having given up my MDL berth and Blue card this year but still in pocket on the overall deal so far.

Sorry you are layed up you will be pleased to know other owners from north of Watford had given up on their travel plans.

Re: Lancaster

Haud yer wheest ye wee Jessie

Lancaster
rhymes with Pasta .. which is often served with cauliflower cheese .. enough tae bring a tear tae yer een

However
Lancaster has got to be most famous for the Lancaster Bomber .. a weapon of mass destruction responsible mayhem and destruction ... the bouncing bomb, Barnes Wallis, Nigger etc etc

You have my sympathy, also injured my back 3 weeks ago righting a RIB which had flipped over with the outboard still attached!! Bugger!!! Still no lasting damage to the RIB or engine, but did my back in but nowhere near as bad as you. Still a real nuisance and not pleasant.

I can imagine how you feel particularly having planned to be on a summer cruise but the weather really has been crap and the week ahead looks little better. Hope the pain soon eases and you'll soon be up and about.

Re: Lancaster

As if I wasn't poorly enough, my post has now been hi-jacked by the Scottish mafia!! Confirmed today that it is definitely a badly torn muscle - yet more painkillers, and a reckoning of another 2 weeks of gradually improving pain, with a further 12 flaming weeks of having to be VERY careful thereafter.

I've had enough, and decided to go down to the boat anyway later this week, and stay for there Hythe Marina cruise the following friday. Don't know if I'll be able to get out for the odd day sail, but it's a poor substitute for what was planned.

Cheers all, and thanks for the best wishes

Mike

Re: Claymore\'s revenge

It was not my idea, but Clasie insisted on demonstrating his patented child-control methods to me when he visited recently, and returned from the pub armed with a large stick, leapt aboard the boat and beat the sleeping babes as they slept. Unfortunatley, it was the wrong boat, and I think he owes you an apology. Or perhaps he was right all along, and we can expect a bit less lippiness from Nicho?

Re: Claymore\'s revenge

Lippy, Moi?? Not you as well TCM. I've just had a bollocking from the Mrs for something I did/said. I havn't a clue what it was, and dare'nt ask, so I'll have to try and work it out myself. I think it just that I've just been at home for too long at any one stretch.....

Re: The wrong boat?

oh god I thought that was just a horrible nightmare. There I was sleeping peacefully and in comes some loud drunken scot demanding to play mummies and daddies.

I need therapy
