That's not quite correct part of the island of Ireland is part of Europe, if the North Atlantic Drift slows down the UK will be as cold as Canada, along with rising sea levels and other far reaching consequences.

Yes but global warming will cancel out any effects of less North Atlantic Drift so no need to worry. Desalination of the sea caused by melting icecaps is one to watch as it could cause old wooden boats to rot and a general reduction in buoyancy too.
