Green Light

Posted yesterday by the Broads Authority on a local forum.

Following the Government announcement on 23 June regarding the easing of lockdown restrictions, the Broads Authority is pleased to welcome back private owners and hirers for overnight stays on boats in the Broads area from 4 July onwards.

Those who are planning to stay overnight on their boat or to hire a vessel must follow the Government instructions on social distancing and local safety information provided by the Broads Authority.

Please await an announcement on our website and social media tomorrow (24 June) with further information and details: Coronavirus (COVID-19) information

So I guess we can. What marinas decide to do is of course up to them.

Brightlingsea have said open to overnight visitors from 4th July. Below is from their Facebook post

We are very excited by the latest government announcements. It seems that as of 4th July the Harbour will be able to resume a more normal service, including welcoming visitors overnight, the usual extended taxi service and Foot Ferry with some modifications. We'll keep you posted

Up until July 4th, you have to stay at your primary residence. After that you can stay on the boat, in chalets, hotels and caravan parks all you want.

A note of caution, if you want to go marina/harbour-hopping, don't assume that all will welcome visitors immediately from July 4th. They've all got to adapt their facilities to meet requirements.
