Been using Garmin since 1996ish when I got my first Garmin GPS 45XL, also used a Zumo 550 on my motorbike and in the car too.
The 45XL I used it with my Psion 3C PDA with a modified input to it to take the GPS NMEA signal I could then use the Microsoft Autoroute App on the Psion to display my location in real time. Later I used it with Autoroute on the laptop.
