This just now. The two arrows suggest they are restless in the gusts - moving at 2.2kts.

Windy is saying gusting 35kts now, prediciting 58-62 kts at 0700 tomorrow. Most are south of the Margate Sand. Following one of the tracks we can see it didn't like the Dover Straits:

An unpleasant night for them. Let us wish them all well

PS. The arrow on the right was obviously anchoring just now. The red arrow has moved closer to the ship to its SW.

A sensible place to anchor but would not like to be working on one of the 13 French fishing boats east of the Lizard right now

But guess much better than the F10 off Brittany

I think earlier Colin there was a little slant from the west giving them some shelter for a while. But then.......

Most still in situ in the Margate Anchorage this morning. I think some might have gone and others come. Good news.

Harwich and West Mersea Lifeboats have been/are doing a service twixt the Colne Bar and Pyefleet.

Yes, the Harwich LB is still there 6 hours after launching! I do know that whatever they were looking for was located 45 minutes ago at 0900......,

Stena Britannica just left Harwich 0900 for the Hook.

Gusting 51 knots according to Harwich Approach Station.
Our daughter once did a ferry trip to Ostend in a F10. As an experienced sailor, she was one of only a handful still standing by the time they got there, and in full possession of their breakfast.

Yikes..............F10

I'm retiring from home at the moment.

May venture out to Tesco Extra if the wind stays southerly. That's if I don't
fall asleep.

Looked like the lifeboat was bumbling about outside Brightlingsea creek sheltered from everything.

Indeed she is now heading back to Harwich. Wonder what she was doing?

Given the WM LB earlier searched at Pyefleet and Brittlesea entrances they were looking for something which Plum says was found at 0900. There wouldn't have been any shelter outside the creek. Indeed on the ebb it would have been quite nasty there.

Given the WM boat returned to base at 0515, it doesn't look good at 0900. And seems to be still looking at the moment.
it was a yacht aground in the Colne near Fingringhoe. Too shallow for the LB so they stood by....... Person was taken off by Coastguard helicopter at 12:40
