No connection, I'm just impressed with the quality of the one I bought.....
 
at some point in the future some enterprising soul is going to catch on these things are too cheap and realise that there is a comfy margin to be made by cornering the market and perhaps buying up all the stock at source .
Is not unknown for a disruptive manufacturer to flood a market with a budget priced product to simply destroy any established high value competition and then jump into the void left behind.

Fitted a Planar 4kw unit 4 years ago and (touch wood) has been working perfectly ever since, and performed more reliably than my eberspacher ever did. At that time they came from abroad, they are basicaly agricultural Russian eberspacher copies. Originaly built to stop lorry drivers freezing in siberia. The one I bought came from Russia and I had to pay import duty, even so it was cheaper than getting my old eberspacher serviced. Controls are basic compared with an ebespatcher, but to me the more basic a unit is, the less likely it is to go wrong. My biggest smile came when I put my old eberspacher unit on ebay (spares or repair), and got more than the Planar cost.

Very interesting, after reading that it would suggest there’s many other companies also guilty of the same crime, I wonder how long it is before they are fined ? I suppose the EC have got to get some money from somewhere to make up for what they are about to loose.
What do you think I originally meant ?

Those Laws don't exist in China...… One should not Judge other countries by the values of your own country...…….. Makes no sense to do so

You might want to mention to the owner of this one to be careful if it is the more common 5kW model with a 75mm outlet onto a 50mm outlet as the reduced outlet could drastically reduce the airflow, which in turn could cause overheating at the unit, especially in the pull down phase (initial high load).

On my install I have been careful to maintain at least 2/3 of duct maximum area as fully open outlets.


Incidentally this supplier delivered within 3 days from UK stock (no risk of import taxes), albeit at a slightly higher price, although I see that has come down the past week. But this is the one with the display that does not go blank when the unit is turned off.

Think his old unit was a D1 (circa 1970s).Did mention he might have to install a decent length of 75mm ducting prior to any reduction to 55mm , before firing up his new Chinaspacher to prevent overheat shutdown.
On my install, fitted 2 metres of 100m to prevent the problem occuring.

Can anyone tell me what the lift height of the fuel pump is? i.e. rather than using the supplied tank I would prefer to use my onboard diesel tanks. On low fuel levels in the tank the lift height where I propose to place the heater may be as much as 1.5m higher. Would this pose a problem?

It doesn't with the Eberwasto of which they are a copy. Can't see it being a problem.

I received mine earlier this week. The ancillaries in the kit looks a bit tat and so I will replace exhaust hose, silencer, clips etc etc. But the heater unit itself looks to be remarkably well made. Absolutely no assembly instructions, just a couple pages on basic use, but other than working out which is the intake and which is exhaust (I know that's rather fundamental!) it will be a doddle to assemble.

If anybody knows a link to instructions I'd be grateful. I will be shoe horning this into a locker with external intake so any tips on minimum clearances, airflow etc of any locker space that are known or not in a manual will be appreciated.

Edit.

One last question. Does the unit have to lie in a specific orientation i.e. flat, upright and horizontal. As the intake and exhaust come out the bottom installation may be easier if the unit was rolled 90 degree so the intake and exhaust exited from the side.
