Good news about Tufnol Blocks

Until recently Tufnol blocks were made by Holland Yacht Equipment, who recently closed down. Barton are restarting production of Tufnol fittings, which they started doing in 1948. Barton Tufnol fittings are currently being manufactured and will be available through their world wide distribution network. All of you with traditional Tufnol fittings will be able to keep your boats looking the same.

Excellent! My 56 year old Trident 24 still has many of the original Tufnol fitting - Winches, blocks etc.

My tufnol turning blocks could do with replacing - after a mere 40 years!

(it's little wonder there's no money to be made selling them - I hope they have the good sense to put a crappy component in there this time, so they need replacing sooner - if they don't make money they won't be available)

Possibly some of the original GIBB tufnol blocks still held in stock at SEASURE ,Shore Road .Warsash. Some still turn up at Boat Jumbles too. Perhaps also the Barge chandlery at Bursledon.
