It seems those of us who have not been unfortunate enough to get on the Cherbourg trip could really get some serious damage done here. We are going to be forming some kind of majority over the next few days so perhaps we could have a Kangaroo Court In Absentia and vote a few of them off. Kim will have to listen to us as he needs the moderation work so my first choice would be to impose a 1 month ban on Jimi as he is a compete eejit.
The appalling record of Para as a fisherman merits a month in Chokey as well.
Paid Services to yachting Journalism and self aggrandisement TK - 5 weeks
Big Nick for cleaning out every branch of Morrisons, Safeway and Tesco along the south coast of Breakfast ingredients - whilst not affecting me directly - 6 weeks?

I fully agree. It will be much roomier with them out of the way. Can be ban them from mentioning anything about the trip on their return? Unless it was bloody awful of course, in which case we need all the details for endless taunting.

This sounds, dare I say it, like one of your better ideas. The idea of some of the more charismatic forum members doing “penal servitude” for all their past indiscretions has got to be a winner. My only problem is, that thee and me may find ourselves included and at this moment I can’t really afford to do time.
We have both been guilty of posting replies on such matters as “big boys breakfast’s, defaced blues, fishing, sailing to windward etc.
NO overall I think this is a case of not putting your head above the parapit.

As ButtMaster General, and whimper out of Cherbourg trip, may I suggest the following:

1 week's ban for saying 'Shame the others couldn't make it'
2 week's ban for saying 'and the weather was so good, too'
3 week's ban for making any 'in' jokes that you would have to have been there to uinderstand.
4 week's ban for banging on about the wife tasting.
5 week's ban for telling us all how much better the French marinas are than ours
6 week's ban for suggesting they do the same next year

Me, bitter about not going? Not at all.

Wife tasting?

Two weeks ban for making immoral (if not tasteless) suggestions!

Oh, and I forgot 12 week's ban for telling us that they're leaving and 13 week's ban for telling us that they're back.

Hmm, wife tasting, you all know what I meant.

Why don't you all admit it... you are going to miss us.
It'll be soooooooo quiet over the weekend nothing to snigger at or raise your hackles you'll have withdrawel symptoms by Monday and pleased with all the postings.

Maybe next year for those a bit further north???

Don't you believe it - my employers know whats best for me so I'll be good and busy and won't miss you at all - I wont miss it when the forecast Northwesterly fails to materialise and you find just enough South in the westerly to make it lumpy. I won't miss Para throwing cups of coffee and food over me, jimi sleeping whilst I'm talking, Bignicks breakfast, TK doing his yachting journo interviews....but I may miss Weekend Julie

I'm going to aim for a nice round 52 weeks ban...

Just heading off now - looking forward to plenty of boozing (tonight in Gosport, Fri, Sat Cherbourg) Sun Gosport. Punctuated by an easy broad reach across in NW4-5, and a beam reach back in W3.

The wine tasting will be excellent (and free) the food good, the company fun and the marinas rates cheap.....

That will do nicely for the moment. Hopefully the ban will be suspended for long enough for a gloat and several threads worth of in jokes when we get back.

Have a good weekend folks
