Anyone knows what the beast glue is to stick hard wood surround to 10mm thick Perspex of Polycarbonate e for a sliding companionway hatch.

I would see if there's any way to add small screws to 'double-lock' the two materials together.

PolyC is a difficult material to bond.

Thats how it was i was originally which made it easy to simply remove the screws and remove the Perspex hatch top to gain access to the boat.

I was considering doing that again

Be aware that perspex (acrylic) and polycarbonate are two completely different plastics. Many glues will only work on one and not the other.

It can be quite a problem selecting the right bonding product for the job as the choice is overwhelming. The problem is that many dont bond to certain materials like they claim to. Maybe "how long for" doesnt come into it as long as it initially sticks ?
Lets take polypropylene as an example.

Permabond sell

TA4610 Difficult Plastic Bonding Acrylic Adhesive.

Acrylic adhesive specifically developed for the bonding of difficult-to-bond low surface energy plastics such as polyethylene, polypropylene, HDPE to each other and other substrates including metals and composite materials.

CT-1 state
CT1 will Stick most Plastics to Metal very successfully. Acrylics, pvc, polycarbonate, bakelight, etc pose no challenge.
The only plastic which won’t stick is polypropylene, but that’s no surprise as polypropylene is impossible to bond.

They cant both be correct ?
You see a brand on a shelf that has a whole range of sealants and adhesive for all different tasks, then they have one tube that does it all ?
I dont have much faith in the products that claim to stick to so many different things. I would prefer a product specifically aimed at the items im trying to bond as they tend to work well especially if its for bonding glass to glass, aluminium to aluminium etc.
