I have decided to revert to an optimus parafin stove ( not oven). I have the stove but not any gimbals that will fit it. any ideas where I might find one. I am not clear how the stove fits into the gimbals so any advice is welcome.
Thanks David

Ordinary round job?

I ask because I think Optimus also make/made a two burner rectangular one, and |I don't know which you have.

If the round type, you need to hunt down a set of "Mol-Con" gimbals (heavy galvanised cast iron; quite indestructible, but not made for many years) at a boat jumble or in the back of the older type of boatyard. Used them for years before I bought a Taylors (and passed mine on to my sister, so I can't help out!)

Re: Ordinary round job?

Hi,
It is a two burner stove 19 inches long.
I saw the result of an explosion on a Hillyard and ever since then been rather nervous about gas on board!

I have an 'Optimus' 155 Stainless Steel Boat Stove which I bought new and have used for the past twelve years.
Mine mounts on the 156 Oven which itself has gimbals fitted. However the instruction leaflet for the 155 shows on the back "Instructions for fitting the balance suspension No 2338 for Optimus 155 stove." The "balance suspension" (gimbals) is shown on the spare parts list. The parts seem very simple.
I will try to get this leaflet scanned and post it later as it may be of some help.
