I would contact a local engineering machine shop with a view to having several replacements machined up.

The inserts could well be a nylon and I am assuming you are able to dismantle and remove the worn ones. With these in hand and a diameter for the shaft that turns inside them any machine shop could make them.

Cheers.

If you get some made up, consider making the new ones from bronze, last ages.

I am replacing my ibb winches, because I could not get spares anymore. The inserts are bronze and in good order. I have a 24' (7.25 m) boat and the winches are comparable to Lewmar 8 in size. If that suits you, make me an offer.

I am told that most manufacturers use commom bits, but I don't know how true that is. Suggest you look at Lewmar and other spares kits to see if any are compatible before adoopting extreme measures

They don't. I have searched high and low for Gibb spares.
