Hi, i have a Pegasus 800 & was trying to find out the practicalities of (possibly) getting from the ore to somerleyton next weekend. Was wondering if this is (a) possible & (b) what hoops I may have to jump through to do it.

Many thanks in advance

When you say practicalities... do you mean "is it possible"?
You'll need to exit the Ore on the last of the flood and then you'll have a fair tide for the 20 miles or so to Lowestoft. There you'll need to pass through a couple of lifting bridges and a lock (I think) from Lake Lothing into Oulton Broad and then follow the Waveney up to Somerleyton.
What speed does your boat make. With a fair tide, if you can make 5 knots then it's a simple sail.
I don't know if there are any tidal restrictions at the Lowestoft end however... you'll need a local pilot book (mine are on the boat) or someone on here who can inform...

My last boat was a lift keel 800, which I took to Reedham via Lowestoft and Somerleyton. Had to lower the mast at Haddiscoe, but this won't bother you at Somerleyton. The town bridge at Lowestoft is controlled by the port and opens at published times. Lake Lothing rail, road, and Mutford lock all operate in unison - usually! Somerleyton swing ridge listens on VHF - channel must be on Broads Website which to be honest will probably render most of my comment redundant :)
Yes it's do-able, look out for emergency bridge repairs though which could mean you having to lower your mast if any of the swing bridges are playing up.
