Getting Nice Shiny Props

can anyone recommend or know how to remove that green algae from my not-so-nice-anymore steel props, it seems that a standard scrub and 'Star brite's ' hull /metal cleaner are having little effect.

Yes they are removed and sitting in the kitchen getting shunted about by swmbo as she prepares lovely xmas dinners etc!

Oh, and a happy new new boaty year to all!

As they are in the kitchen already, why not try the dishwasher?
If not allowed, try Scotch brite pads?

it sounds strange, but it works: in Spain, the props are cleaned with hydrochloric acid or salt acid. In Italy and Spain, (thinned) salt acid is sold in supermarkets for cleaning purpose. Just "spray" the prop with the salt acid and wait 30 seconds, then wash off with fresh water. You have to repeat several times. You get all the barnicles and slime off the propeller without mechanical rubbing.

Check out the website www.rydlymemarine.com . Gets rid of scale , Tiger Mussels etc and isn't dangerous like caustics and no scrubbing!!
