Thought I would update on my efforts.
Well I tried to create a sealed system with a small radiator but ran it today and the water would not circulate, tried to run it as a gravity system. Photo 1. The gearbox got surprisingly hot well more than you want to put your hand on. A pump might have helped but decided the small radiator probably wasn't enough to dissapate the heat being generated. So went back to sea water cooled photo 2 and all seems good, will see how long it lasts...... I am hoping for two seasons to accumulate funds for a new gearbox and perhaps some piston rings for the engine.... (another story). Did have one little mishap, cleaned up the inside with a dremel and abrasive pad attachment which came off the click system and disappeared down inside the cooling chamber of the gearbox. A small strong manget and some tense patience worked in the end! The black line showed it had reached the bottom of the chamber.
Looking forward to a sail!!!!! Or even just a cup of tea and some biscuits!
