gas safety on board

I think by the time you have sourced the parts (if available) changed the pipework inside the cooker to accomodate the flame failure fittings and paid the labour for someone to do, you would probably be looking at a substantial portion of the cost of a new cooker.

IMO flame failure protection is absolutely essential, especially on a boat unless you plan to sit there and watch it like a hawk whilst you are cooking?

There are all sorts of deals on t'internet for new cookers.

Good luck

Chas

I doubt that you'll find the parts to fit as the taps and burners tended to get redesigned as the new features were incorporated. It may help to name the cooker - someone may have direct knowledge of the type.

Rob.

P.S. Leisure Products manufactured all the Plastimo cookers.

The gas stove onboard my boat does not have flame out protection. Is there anyway that it can be retro fitted ?

Very very unlikely. IIRC complete hob upgrade "kits" were available for one of the popular boat cookers at one time but I have a feeling no longer. An avenue worth exploring perhaps

New stove time probably :( But it is worth remembering that even the Boat safety scheme does not disallow existing cookers without flame failure control.)

A gas alarm might be an alternative safety measure if you do not already have one, coupled perhaps to a gas control valve
