I found two gas regulators when clearing my garage.
One is stamped 8 07, the other 01 00.
I guess these codes are the date of manufacture?
They haven't been used for years, at least 10 years.
They are both butane, one Calor, the other Campingaz.
I guess both these are well past the date they should have been scrapped.
But it raised question how often should I replace the gas regulator?

I replace mine every 5 years. Low cost. I did have a +10 year one in service but replaced it because of age. It worked fine.

Smash them with a large hammer before binning them. I have been around two LPG 'malfunctions' which scared me rigid for the possible consequences.
Components/materials for anything else, I use common-sense and judgement, - but for LPG stuff I adhere strictly to the date limits; they are there for a reason.

10 years is the recommended replacement interval.

Thanks VicS, that's the number I was looking for.
I get a gas safety engineer to check the gas system on the boat, every two years. He replaces what needs to be replaced.
