Gas-powered generator

Given an aversion to carrying petrol and that most boats cook with gas, is there available a generator to run off butane/propane?
Any petrol engine will run off gas. You will need a regulator and a conversion that replaces the main jet in the carb. Calor Gas used to sell kits for the main stream Honda gennies. Be aware that it is slightly less efficient than petrol so requires more gas to produce the same power, also be look at your average yottie gas bottle 4.5kg and think, if that was petrol how long would it last?

I had a Briggs & Stratton powered Black & Decker 3Kva set with gas. On balance I would prefer the petrol unit as I had to cart it around and the 13 kg bottle was a pain. Price wise it would be more expensive now and on a boat a hassle with the bottles.

Honda EU1 that has the gas conversion but have not tried it in on gas in the 2 years I have had it. Will do this weekend having seen this post. I purchased mine used from a friend at a great price but think I have seen the Gas kit costing £200 or so on top of the cost of the generator.
