Gas Cooker

I have to replace my cooker due to no flame out device which was a fail on a recent survey. I am at the boatshow on Saturday and have narrowed down my choices to the Nelson Two Burner Cooker or the Neptune 2000.

I have mislaid my copy of PBO which was testing cookers about 6-7 months back which is annoying to say the least.

Which of this two should I go for, or should I add another into the equation?

Thank you in advance for any advice given.

I have a neptune and while quite happy with the cooker in general I find the wire oven door clip arrangement a real pain. Might not be such a problem on you cat!

Re: Door clip

I think the wire oven door clip is a good feature.
I fitted two clips on my oven door to hold it shut.
I found that with the gimbals locked off, in a bit of a blow, the ‘stuff’ stored in the oven would push the door open and spread it all over the floor.

Re: Door clip

The problem is that the door clip isn't strong enough. The wire bends and comes out of the holes at the side of the cooker. Once had a chicken casserole slide out on to the cabin floor; horrible mess, and slippery as well.

Well we looked, prodded, opened, closed, pointed, and I think we are going to order the Nelson, it just seemed better built. Thank God we don't need the gimbals, very very annoying on all the ovens, makes everything a two handed job.

The one thing that my partner is concerned about, maybe she is wrong, does the wire door lock get hot to touch when the oven or grill is on?

I'm afraid I can't come up with any information on the two you've selected so far, but have you taken a look at the Techimpex? Looks like good value for money but I haven't seen any reviews. I'm in the same position vis a vis a survey failure and wondered whether there was any way to retrofit flame failure devices. Seems like a waste to replace the whole thing, doesn't it?
