Hi Do I need to get a Corgi registered gas fitter to fit a new gas cooker in my boat or is it OK to DIY or for my usual marine engineer to fit it? Thx

I think the law now is for a Gassafe (no Corgi now) installer to at least check it, and probably do the actual connection both ends.

However if you did it, I am not sure how anyone would know you'd done it as long as you do it the correct way.

You can DIY and not be prosecuted for failure to comply, unless something goes wrong. If you can, search the Gas Safe Register for someone in your are who holds the qualifications for LPG gas installation on boats. That alone will confirm they have passed an assessment in their ability to work on LPG. Not natural gas, not domestic, not anything else. They are rare as it's not a well paid area of work, but essential. Good luck.
