Replacing transducer

I need to replace my airmar (B&G) DST800 and note that there seems to be some variance of pricing for the DST depending whether you are buying one marketed for Raymarine / Simrad / Garmin etc.

Can I just buy the cheapest DST 800 I can find irrespective of Brand or does it need to be B&G specific?

Provided the plug is the correct one they are all OK. If the plug is wrong you may be able to splice a length of your original cable to it.
