Difficult to be 100% but it is quite likely to be one of these:
Force 4 Brass Hose Nozzle 5/16” to 8mm Hose | Force 4 Chandlery
You connect the orange 8mm hose to the barb and use a Jubilee clip. The other end in the photo looks dodgy.

If the has locker is the other side of the laminate, the pipe is ought to be secured and sealed. Please consider a longer copper pipe curled round to present the connector to suit, the longer pipe sealed in, as needed.

It looks like an olive crimped to the very end of a copper pipe with the nut on the pipe . It would mate with a compression fitting but the olive is far too close to the end. Cut it off and fit a complete new fitting. A Fulham nozzle if you want to attatch a hose to it.

I think you may be right. The nut slides along the brass pipe so I assume would screw into the connector that goes into the hose.
When you say that the other end looks dodgy, How do you mean?

It looks loose to me, as if it has been pushed over a piece of straight pipe. Your orange flexi pipe needs to fix tightly to a barbed nozzle, secured with a clip around it, as the others have mentioned.
A similar fitting to the other end would be common.

Looks to me like a compression fitting was there but olive/ pipe slipped when tightening

Agree looks like an olive thats been tightening really tightend with the pipe not fully inserted. Also, difficult to tell from picture, but the olive should be copper not brass , LPG regulations on boats say swap out brass olives for copper uns. This may have changed, ime not LPG ticketed, so please double check A better seal apparently.. OK only really applicable for inland water craft .

If fitting a nozzle to take a hose, a Fulham nozzle is the correct one for black low pressure hose, (see the link in #4), but a barbed nozzle is the one for orange high pressure hose. (See #2 )

I would prefer a bulkhead fitting & Fulham nozzle. less to wobble about.

Looks like a 3-8 th right hand nut and tail can be bought from any welding shop.

Thank you all for the comments, explanations and advice. I’ve bought 2 of those connectors, taken the olive off the original and replaced it further up the pipe. I’ve also installed one on the cooker intake.
