One of the burners on my stove (gaz) regularly goes out a minute or so after it is lit. Not always but often enough to be very annoying. Has anyone had similar problems? Guess it is to do with the safety thermocouple. Where can I get a new one?

its worth taking the burner top off and clean out the airways, my plastimo one kept on going out and it was because of rusty dust in the air channel under the burner top.
i guess it was altering the flame temprature

I had exactly the same problem on my new boat. Just the large burner. Opal sent an engineeer who changed the thermocouple but the problem persisted. Checked everything else but no solution found. Replaced whole gas cooker for a new one and that solved the problem. Sorry, perhaps not helpful?

Had a similar problem with my oven, it started by being difficult to light, then would only stay alight when you held the switch in. I called in the gas engineer who told me I needed a new thermocouple. After some effort I managed to get one and he came to fit it. On taking the cooker to pieces he found that the input on the top of the stove had worked loose and when that was tightenecd up the problem disappeared.

Suggest you remove all the burners and clean as indicated by another post. Then take the top plate off the top of the cooker, having first of course turned your gas supply off at the bottle. You should see copper tubes running to the back of each gas control valve which are held in by a nut. Make sure the one tot he relevant burner is tight. remember the old cry, slack back half a turn and then tighten up. It might be a good idea to check the others. Having done this reassmble and see if it worked.

Best of luck
