Gas barbecues any advice suggestions

Popular demand suggests we need one!!
This is an outdoor kitchen as much as just a barbie as it gets hot below using the gas cooker and being in Spain we get good fish but that can get a bit smelly!!
We use camping gas so one that would use a spare cylinder would be good, it will sit on the pushpit rail so needs to be good stainless. What I have seen to date look very expensive!

Any experience or suggestions welcome.

Cool to touch, use solid fuel, can lift while cooking with bare hands, and cook on plastic table. Only the lid gets hot.

Will not kill any food by overheating, will cook whole chicken.

Slow (Just start cooking earlier!) but reliable, safe (apart from CO of course!) and compact. Will cook for 4-6 depending on size....

£109 for typical package...last forever.
 
There are two versions of the Magma Rail mount one gas and one non gas observation at different price points but not two bad about £250 for the Gas
There is also another rail mount that takes the disposable trays about £30.
 
We had a frame which clipped on to the rail and held a disposable charcoal barbecue which was a cheap way of using on board but moved on to a Cobb which as said can be moved and sat on the cockpit floor etc under cover in required although appreciate that in Spain bad weather which might blow out a rail version might be less concern . The Cobb has its own bag and can be hosed down if needed. Half the price of the rail mount one. I believe second hand ones come up on websites and they have different sizes but we have found standard round one works well with good supply of charcoal pieces and a few round Cobb stones which last longer. Can also be taken ashore for cooking on pontoon etc if preferred on camping table etc.
 
Our experience of Magma ones was that we could never sail with it fixed in place, so had to put it in a locker, where it proved very bulky. We bought cheap tinplate ones that use lava rocks as substitute charcoal. They work well but don't last in the marine environment. We are now on our fourth in about 12 years. Buy from caravan shops or on line.

I had the same issue, so I welded a small vertical spigot onto the transom mounted liferaft rack, and mounted the Magna onto that. When sailing, I swing it inboard so that it sits over the liferaft. When cooking, it swings outwards and sits over the water.

I also connect my gas to the main onboard gas supply using a caravan gas connector thingo. It saves mucking about with bottles on the deck.

Having BBQ is essential in the med - just about every dinner gets cooked on it.

I am wondering if we might just try a portable gas hob and find a place for it in a locker.
The requirement is as much about an ' outdoor kitchen' as an actuall Barbie with all the cleaning issues.
One with folding windscreens is what I am thinking?
 
+1 for the Cobb which is brilliant and flexible. I don’t understand the point about cleaning it. The grill gets washed up down below; the rest of it, which is aluminium, is no longer shiny - although I’m sure I could take a metal cleaner to it if I wanted - but, well, it’s a barbecue. It lives in a transom locker and serves its purpose on a pontoon, in a field, in the cockpit, on the coach roof. Perhaps it’s that people value a shiny stainless steel item.

Another great thing about it is it’s some lid. You can cook food - big food - without having to cremate its underside in order to cook the food thoroughly. And when we’ve finished, a quick dip of the base in the sea and the charcoal briquettes break into cold ash and you’re done.
