Does anyone understand how the three applications in the thread title inter-relate?
I've just bought a new MFD for the boat (wifi compatible) and was hoping to use my Active Captain Onechart on it. Trying to achieve this has thrown up a series of questions though. I have managed to register the majority of my various Garmin devices on myGarmin, although it won't accept the serial numbers for my 2 VHF's. I fnd that one of my GPS aerials shows on A/C and G/E but not the other. There are other idiosyncracies which are too detailed to try and describe. The main issue seems to be that the new GPS does not show on the list of registered devices on A/C yet it says 'succesfully registered' each time I key in the serial number. I can't believe there can be three databases of devices that Garmin hold.
My understanding was that you can share a single chart across all MFD's registered to a single A/C account. I tried to download a copy of my Onechart onto an SD card. After download it said it was unlocked for my 2 older chartplotters but it won't work in either plotter - it just comes up with a 'chart not unlocked' message. Nor will it work in my new plotter. I've yet to go back to the boat and see if A/C will synchronise with the new plotter and transfer the Onechart via wifi.
Secondly, if I buy an update for my Onechart on A/C will it show in Express and allow me to download onto an SD card?
Any experiences will be appreciated.
