Hello everyone, Just wondering if anyone has had any issues with Garmin charts / maps, the reason i am asking is i purchased a new Echomap 75cv UHD to replace my Garmin 70s as i was impressed with the contour graphics, I use it mainly for fishing the heads around Jersey, I went out with newly fitted 75cv and fished the usual rocks as i did with my Echomap70s but they just weren't there!or anywhere near where the new 75cv was showing, after going out a few days fishing the heads where i normally go i realised something was odd as i couldn't find the fishing marks, i then took the coordinates of Green rock whiich is off Corbiere with my new 75cv they are N49 11' 060" .. W02 16' 201" i rewired my old Echomap70s and the coordinates for Green rock were N49 10' 932" .. W02 15' 965" in actual distance the difference between new and old garmin echomaps was 1300 ft, needless to say i returned new echomap75cv and the suppliers cross checked on paper charts and found the old echomap 70s was spot on where heads were and the new echomap75cv with navionic data was out by 1300ft, the iphones i have cross referenced give the coordinates matching the ones out by 1300ft. is it acceptable to be this much discrepency. at no time did any messages saying updates were needed. everything out there is not what it seems.

Is the Map datum for the plotter set to the same datum as the chart?
There was another head that didn't fish as normal and that was West Rock, once the weather breaks i will check the 70s. All other heads around Corbiere were good, also around St Helier seemed good so at the moment there is only "Green Rock" which is out by 1300ft, if anyone is running Garmin Navionics on their phone or plotter check the Coordinates against Charts or an older plotter which must use different cartography and you will see, it is only because i use the Echomap to find the underwater heads then use my Striker Sonar to fish the contours. Wouldn't want to end up on the rocks when drying on a mean spring. Is this the only head out by 1300ft, imo doubtful.

I’ve recently bought an Echomap 75sv UHD and my charts match exactly what I see around me when sailing in my area (Thames Estuary). That said, the chart error you have found is a serious risk and I would suggest you email Navionics ASAP to notify them. I’m sure they’ll want to rectify this error immediately.

Yes, All in hand, took 75cv back to supplier and they cross referenced and confirmed that 75cv with navionics data was out by 1300ft, they emailed Garmin with evidence, I spoke to Garmin 19th Oct and they are investigating. i have cross referenced with 2 off iphone data and they were both out by 1300ft also.

The Echomap series MFDs do not work with Navionics charts. They come pre-loaded with Garmin G3 cartography.

If the feature is out of place on three separate devices it's not likely to be anything other than an error on the chart. I'd imagine Garmin will correct it in a future chart update.
