Hello,
I just bought a boat that I will only be able to visit again in 2-3 weeks time. I have once viewed the boat, and the seller had to shortly use an on board GPS Garmin 4008. It was really painful to watch (and I had a go at it too) attempts to position the map over a specific location, which was the town of Brighton. There was a sort-of-mouse-pointer on the screen. When using direction keys it would move across the screen, while the map wouldn't. Once the pointer hits the side of the screen, nothing happens, but after a few seconds the map would race in the direction of a pointer uncontrollably, flying over the location you intended to view. Because of that the map has then to be moved in the opposite direction to return to the intended location. So we again start moving the pointer across the whole screen(and it moves slowly) and the map would race again. Very hard to focus on a specific location. I'm sure there should be a better way of controlling the map on such expensive device like Garmin GPS 4008?
Please advice me, so I can stop worrying about this. I don't necessarily need to know the exact procedure, I could figure it later. I'd be simply relieved to know that there exist non frustrating ways of using that GPS device.
Thanks!
