Just struck me as quite unusual to see all sea areas with the dreaded red star and gale warning.
Should be a gale warning for the marinas and yards by the sound of the wind outside. Anyone for a game of Dominoes![]()

Used to look at the shipping forecast much more often than I do now but with such reliable local forecasts and a quick glance at a synoptic job done. Still love the SF and hope it stays around forever.
Being serious, I always listen to the Radio 4 forecast ( had a NASA Navtex but it was instantly U/S so sent it back ) - I have a Roberts radio - cassette job - yes, still available, no connection - which can be programmed to tape the early morning forecast but the thing's so fiddley to set up that's all I get for advanced intel.
The Coastguard could do a lot more to help yotties and themselves by putting out regular brief local forecasts on VHF.
I miss the ' Radio 4 intro theme ' too !
