Ahh, well, I usually use my nose, but as a smoker, yours may not be as finely tuned as it once was. You could train Henry to seek - a la drug dogs, but it may take a little too long - especially given his currrent status for obedience training.

I reckon your best bet at such short notice is to play the sympathy card, start to wilt visibly & complain about the heat. If that doesn't work, ask in a weak & feeble voice for an iced drink - in some cases it may even be necessary to specify the brand of Gin & Tonic to ensure suitable refreshments are supplied.

If all else fails sink quietly to the floor with a slight gasp so that Debs can shout "Quick, a Brandy, . . or two, Haydn's fainted"

Good Luck mate, there are some in that gang who will ignore your every guile. Their very pockets are sewn up, they wear boxing gloves & leave their wallets & credit cards at home. It is a tough task you face.
