Fuel/Oil Ratio

Hi guys, I have a 25hp Mercury 2002 model, can anyone tell me the correct mixture ratio for this engine, I managed to borrow a (upto 2001) Seloc book and it says 50:1, Then I was told all modern engines run 100:1

So at the moment I am a little stumped

Well, this is all a bit tentative, given your scanty profile etc. but,

IMHO I would go with the manufacturer's recommendation. If it's wrong you might burn a bit more oil, but get it wrong the other way and you've got a big engine repair.

According to the engine FAQs on iBoats it will run on 50:1.

Thats a safe option anyway even if it should be 100:1, provided the plugs don't foul up. Running on 100:1 is risky in case it should be 50:1.
