Were going from Conwy to IOM, soon as the wind stops blowing. It's about 95 p in conwy. How much IOM? I have 30 gallons in the stable umm 150 liters, cost about 75 p per liter. But it's a pain to get it to the boat in Conwy. From IOM we are thinking of going to Glasson, where we can get the car alongside, maybe a few times, and fill up from more cans. Is there fuel in glasson. How much. Is there a tanker on hand.??

Ive got two 75 gallon tanks, plus a reserve 45 gallon, oil drum, trancferable.

It's about 65 miles conwy to Duglas, then about 65 miles to Glasson, Then about 85 miles to Conwy. Boats not performing well. maybe doing 17 knots instead of the 22 as it used to. No idea why. Revs are the same Think I'll get the bottom sorted.

So H your going to brave the Lune into Glasson............. 7miles from the fairway marker and the lock closes 1/4hr before HW. Easy for you in that speed machine but a little more thought required with Little Ship.

There is fuel at Glasson and I paid about 70p when I left in April, but that was heating only!

fuel prices have dropped a little since then.

I may be going to Peel weekend of the 8th-9th it's the Old Gaffers meeting........ always worth a visit.

Tom

PS "or sensible fuel prices.2 try the fish dock at Holyhead, they are always much cheaper than the marinas. They fuel the fishing boats so the fuel should be clean. Phone them first to let them know your coming in and dont forget to ask port permission before entering the harbour.

We got a tanker from Garstang to the deliver 500 litres of fuel by tanker to Glasson for us, do not have the number at hand at the moment. The tanker pulls into the car park at Glasson near the pub, so you do not need to go out of the marina lock, just berth on the bank on the right hand side of the marina lock away from the marina. The tanker has a long pipe that will reach you. Worked out a lot cheaper than the marina.

We got a tanker from Garstang

/////////////////////////////////////////

Thought that should be possible, but tell me. how did the tanker limbo under the hight restriction pole on the car park!!

Oh and was that before the new rules or before??

There was someone with a key for the barrier who lived on the live aboard boat berthed on the bank. Don't know if it is still their, you would have to get someone to check. The tanker driver told me he had done this a number of times. What difference does the 60/40 split make? They work it out for you and it is still a lot cheaper than buying it from the marina. I still use a tanker in Scotland to refuel without any problems, but minimum delivery is 500 litres. The company concerned is Emo Oils Tel 01995 606789 just spoke to them on the phone and they still deliver to Glasson Dock (minimum delivery is 500litres)and they also fill up canal boats as well, so they inform me. For pleasure craft they will do the 60/40 split. You will either have to set up a account with them, or pay in advance with credit card or go to the depot and pay cash before they will deliver to non account holders. You can also take your drums to the depot at Garstang and provided you did not buy more than 99 litres you would pay the rebated price of 42p per litre and would not need to sign a declaration form. But this option depends whether you have use of a car. Up to you
Ps, I think I deserve a free burgee for the research and info.LoL

Fuel in Douglas

Give Manx Marine a call.

01624 674842

They sell the fuel cards for the pump. 50 or 100 litre cards. Price changes daily but general around £0.95-£1.05.

You may have to order the cards in advanced too
