Have managed for some years with cheap funnel for diesel filling but is it worth investing in one of these funnels with better filtering? Seem to be quite pricy for a funnel but which one would you recommend?

This what we use, very happy with it. We completely drained a fuel tank, i doubt it had ever been done and poured it all back through the funnel it stripped all manner of crud out. When ever we fill up we use it.

I second that. I had the medium size one but this year bought the bigger twin filter unit. Can now fill the boat almost at the same flow rate as without a filter.

Had to search around on price as the variation was over £20

I have the double one.

I find it cant nearly keep up with full flow from the pump. I sent the first one back for the same reason, but the second was really not much better, which is a shame. I do use it to check the fuel at the start of a fill but very disappointed I cant use it throughout as it would litterally take forever.

I bought a Racor funnel when I drained my tank before cleaning the crud out and used it to refill with same diesel. It was a matter of size and price against speed. I decided to go slower as I wasn't going to use it all the time. A fast flowing version would be big to store unless you have large lockers.
